About The Artist

ABOUT ME

I am an Artisan of beautiful and functional fused glass art, handmade in my studio.

My creative journey in glass began by participating in a basic class at Armstrong Glass. I was intrigued.  I fell in love with the wonderful array of colors and textures, but also the diverse range of techniques in which to transform the glass, using the heat of the kiln to fuse pieces of glass together at high temperatures. I began experimenting and challenged myself with new techniques, mediums and colors; often not knowing what to expect until I opened the kiln.  I became persistent in learning the many processes of fused glass.  Much of my creating starts with a vision. I have also had the privilege of learning from some of the industry’s leading artists, including Michael Dupille and various podcasts from AAE glass artist, Tanya Viet. I also utilize online classes and E-books provided by incredible glass artists, so I am constantly looking to gain knowledge to apply and experiment with this incredible medium.

Glass is an intriguing medium to work with for an artist. Much of my energy is focused on creating functional bowls, trays, platters, and other serving pieces. I also delight in fashioning decorative pieces of art, as well as glass jewelry pendants and earrings.

My fused glass art pieces are individually handcrafted and no two pieces are exactly alike. My pieces of art are composed of multiple layers of opaque and transparent colored glass.  I enjoy experimenting and manipulating the glass using a variety of avenues including powders, frit, paint, copper, mica and mud. The process of creating glass art often requires multiple firings in the kiln to achieve the final product.

The endless possibilities when fusing with art glass can be very exciting and challenging. I hope to share my enthusiasm with fused glass and that you are able to find that unique and beautiful glass art creation that fits your sense of style and design.
